Mission & Bylaws

Elevating Minnesota’s Hunter/Jumper Community

The Minnesota Hunter & Jumper Association (MHJA) exists to support, promote, and elevate the hunter/jumper sport across Minnesota.

For over 50 years, we’ve brought together riders, trainers, and show organizers who share a passion for horsemanship, competition, and community.

United by tradition. Driven by excellence. Focused on the future.

Our Mission

Rooted in tradition. Inspired by the future.

The Minnesota Hunter & Jumper Association exists to support, promote, and elevate the hunter/jumper sport across Minnesota. We do that through four core pillars:

Unite

Bringing together riders, trainers, show managers, and supporters who share a love of the hunter/jumper sport and a commitment to horsemanship.

Elevate

Promoting excellence in competition, education, and welfare so every member—from crossrails to Grand Prix—has the chance to grow and shine.

Advocate

Representing our members within Zone 6 and at the national level through USEF and USHJA, and helping ensure our local shows meet modern standards.

Cultivate

Investing in the next generation through education, clinics, junior outreach, digital storytelling, and programs that keep our community thriving.

MHJA Governance

MHJA operates as a member-driven nonprofit led by an elected Board of Directors and governed by formal Bylaws to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability.

The organization follows USEF and USHJA regulations and is proud to represent Minnesota as part of Zone 6, alongside Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Every year, members vote to elect board directors, participate in the annual meeting, and help shape the future of our sport.
